Knowing how to stand out of the crowded newsfeeds of today’s world, is also helpful in your private life. We already dove into this topic last week.
So I thought it’s about time to research some books and blogs to help you to write better headlines as well…
First you have to understand what you want to achieve with your head claim. Therefore you have to focus on three things:
What is it your piece of writing about.
Who is this for to read.
What are you promising the reader to get out of this, what problem you solve.
Keep in mind. Headlines should stay short, easy to understand and attract the right readers. And yes, you don’t want any reader.
It’s better to have 100 readers which are highly relevant, like the the 100 CEOs of your products target group. Instead of having 10,000 readers which are in the wrong place.
To make life easier for you here some practical tips:
Use headlines to help people learn or understanding something: For example start with, “How To”, “Why”, “If” or “Advice”.
Use headlines which show benefits: For example start with, “Testimonial headline”, “A quote”, “A crazy stat” or “With addressing a specific niche”.
Use headlines like the news: For example start with, “Introducing”, “Announcing”, “Now” or “Just released”.
Relate your headlines to prices: For example start with, “Only 200$ for…”, “With a free offer for…” or “An unheard discount for…”.
This was just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a whole economy around headlines and thumbnails. So use Youtube and listen to people like MrBeast and the alike.
