Entrepreneurial thinking is everywhere
Why everyone should apply business strategies, even in other careers and professions
Read Time: 3.50 Minutes
Many people which are pursuing a career outside of the business bubble tend to believe that thinking in entrepreneurial terms is not mandatory for them to find success.
So they don't even bother about looking into growth or business strategies which can help them to accelerate.
For example. Most of us probably think that becoming a famous musician involves only to sing great. Or to get a well know writer only needs great writing at all.
But there are a lot of great singers out there never make any money from this. Vice versa there are many mediocre singers making millions. Same in writing.
Choose a very famous person in any given category you want. Then follow their career path and look behind their obvious actions.
I promise, you will find patterns of entrepreneurial thinking there.
You don't believe me.
Let's think of Football. Do you think Christiano Ronaldo is where he is because he's only one of the best players out there?
No, it takes way more than that.
Of course. He has great football skills as foundation, because they are necessary. But Ronaldo and his team around him implement many different ideas from entrepreneurial thinking to become the player he is today.
He has maybe the best marketing around him in whole football and sports at all. He used growth ideas to gain followers, contracts and commercials. His daily life is undergoing better planning and forecasting than some serious corporations.
Also his drive to innovation and new developments in preparing his body into the best shape as possible by nutrition or new health methods shows evidence of this.
Just think of the best in their categories and you will find patterns of entrepreneurial thinking there.
LeBron James in basketball. Rafa Nadal in tennis. Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran in music.
Even some politicians used entrepreneurial thinking to advance before others.
Look at the campaign of Macron from France. He came from nowhere straight to president.
Also famous comedians. The real famous of them deliver once or twice a week some shows of two hours. Followed by a week of work with marketing, creating additional fitting products like books, podcasts or they do a lot of PR work.
I actually believe that even becoming the pope, needs some parts of entrepreneurial thinking. (being the CEO of the church requests this anyway)
Just look around you in your daily life and you will recognise that entrepreneurial thinking is everywhere with successful folks.
If you hear terms like “She went the extra mile…” and stuff like “He uses methods outside of the box…”, there is usually entrepreneurial thinking involved.
And this can make your road to success way easier.
So whatever your plan is to become, you should ask yourself how you can use some methods and ideas of entrepreneurship to push your career.
