Time: 3.20 Minutes
Already week 10 of 2025.
While everyone is chasing the next shiny framework or "proven method," (like I do sometimes too) I want to share something that changed my whole perspective on solving problems
First Principles Thinking.
You might ask, what's that fancy term about? Or you heard this before but never got into it?
I hear you... It's actually beautifully simple:
Instead of copying what others do, break down problems to their fundamental truths.
Think Elon Musk redesigning rockets or Jeff Bezos rethinking retail. They didn't follow - they rebuilt from scratch.
Most of us are trapped in thinking patterns that someone else created. We follow "best practices" without questioning if they're actually best for us.
But the real magic happens when you start asking:
"What's really true here?"
Let me give you a real example…
Electric car batteries.
Instead of asking "How can we make batteries better?", first principles thinkers ask: "What do we fundamentally need to store energy?"
This completely different starting point leads to breakthrough solutions.
The beauty is, you can apply this to any challenge:
That impossible business problem? Break it down to its core elements.
That project that keeps failing? Question every assumption.
That strategy that's "always been done this way"? Rebuild it from scratch.
To give you a better expiation listen to younger Elon here…
Before I let you go - look around at the true innovators in your field.
You'll notice they don't just accept things as they are. They dig deeper, question more, and rebuild better.
Stay curious and think from first principles.

PS I would love if you can give me a follow at X here.
