Two years ago the gospel was clear: pick one idea and pour everything into it, because you couldn’t build many things at once.
That was correct, building was slow, expensive, and brutal, so focus was survival.
AI flipped this for now.
Even Sam Altman recently made the point that now you can actually try many more idea.
To be clear, this isn’t about cramming thirty features into one product…
A lean, focused MVP is still the way to go to validate your ideas. It’s more about taking shots at different problems and seeing which one sticks.
Each attempt stays tight and simple. You just get far more of them in a year. Ship a focused solution, watch for real traction, kill what dies without guilt.
Indy hackers like Pieter Levels and Marc Lou show what this means in practice. (Google them!)
The bottleneck used to be execution speed. Now it’s barely a bottleneck.
So stop betting everything on one horse. Take more swings, double down on the winner and stay curious.
