#1 🔥 Is Germany doomed or just have to get back on track? 🛤️
Germans are known for one thing and one thing only, to doom their own destiny. And oh boy/girl if you ever sat foot into a company in the big “Deutschländ”, then you know this saying is often right.
But even if you from somewhere else and never worked there, you should have an interest that Germany is doing good.
Not just geographically centred in the middle of Europe, the DE economy is the motor of the whole continent. And fuels a lot of other countries in the EU.
Every time I’m on a business trip somewhere other, I recognise how envy the corps of smaller countries looking at this big strong market. 84 Million People is at least something.
But the current situation looks not that good. When nearly every other state in this world is recovering from inflation, Germany is one of the rear countries which still suffers with a slow economic growth.
High energy costs and slow international trade is hammering hard on the People of the “Beerland”. But what would help us to recover?
Maybe a stronger move into digitalisation. Maybe just giving it time until world trade is getting back. Who knows for sure? (definitely not economists 🤨)
Anyhow. This is a macro topic. But sometimes we shouldn’t only look into business tactics, instead we should also understand the world around us.
Therefore I recommend you the following short watch, to get a better picture of how ill, the ill man of Europe really is…
My view, being german myself, is that we should be more optimistic. In terms of work ethics we are hardcore. But a positive outlook is important too.
#2 🎯 There is really only one job to be done in the end 💯
This is maybe the most powerful framework you should master to have a great career. Understanding this right, is a real unfair advantage.
Yes we talking about the famous Jobs-to-be-Done.
But many of us, have a false understanding of this. Coming from product thinking, most people think what core “Job” has to be solved by the product for the customer.
In general, this not totally wrong, but leads often to a bad outcome.
You have to change your thinking here. If you want to use this mighty model of thought right, you should focus on the customer not on the product.
The rule of thumb is:
Instead to upgrade your product, you have to upgrade your user.
There are many examples and explanations of this idea, but I think the following one is the best I’ve ever heard.
All of us know “Super Mario”.
In the beginning of the game. Mario is little and Mario is jumping around the level until he finds a mushroom. After eating the mushroom Mario “grows” into Super Mario and get taller and stronger.
So you always want to get the “Super” Mario. (this story sounds like a tale from a Summer Techno Festival, if I re-read this 🍄)
But I hope you get the point. The Job-to-be-Done is to “upgrade” your user, NOT the product.
So next time looking for a core problem you want to solve for your customer, think of how to improve your customers journey or life and build this.
If you want to dive even deeper into this, then read on here…
This is a powerful change of thinking. And giving you a perfect marketing strategy at hand in addition. Just sell your customer how you upgrade him/her and you will win on the long run.

It doesn’t matter how “serious” the company is you work for, it usually boils down to this all the time… 😲
