Want to be the next Elon? Think twice before you dive in
Success comes at a cost, so make sure it’s the life you want
Time: 3.50 Minutes
Let’s talk about picking your game wisely in business.
Dreaming of being the next Elon is tempting, but hold up. Every industry, every idea, comes with a cost.
Success isn’t just about money, it’s about the life you’ll live.
So this post from Sherry here got me thinking:
So study the top players. What’s their reality?
Elite cyclists are rail-thin, living a hyper-disciplined life. Top entrepreneurs often sacrifice balance for scale.
Elon’s achievements are wild, like billion-dollar companies, world-changing tech, but his life is a pressure cooker:
Endless work
Constant scrutiny
No downtime
Is that your vibe? I thought I wanted it, until I realized I’d rather have weekends than a rocket company.
If you’re all in for that grind, great, then chase it.
But if you’re thinking, “Nope, not for me,” pivot.
Maybe you’re better suited for something like indie hacking, where work-life balance isn’t a myth.
For every idea, find role models. Dig into their lives, not just their wins. If you love what you see, go hard. If not, don’t force it.
Success should fit your version of a good life.
So stay curious and pick your path with eyes wide open.
