The Public Mission Log: Why the Change?
The move to Substack and the new iteration of the posting system
Read Time: 3.30 Minutes
This is the 'Public Mission Log' of the Jupiter Dispatch, my personal open journal about all my experiments, ideas in action, and attempts to find new learnings. Join me on this journey as we explore new galaxies together.
Why the change from “Domi’s favourite Things” (Beehiiv-Platform) to the “Jupiter Dispatch” (Substack-Platform)?
Since Feb 23, when I made the decision to start writing, a lot have changed. But most important, I made many steps forward and had a steep learning curve. Therefore I want to bring all these valuable leanings into this new form and make even better content for you.
As already mentioned in the “Welcome Post”, I wanted to change from a personal newsletter to building a writing brand. I believe that learning to build a brand is a valuable lesson for the future.
With the new posting schedule and the new sections like this one, I can follow better one of my core believes, that we should always “pretend to know nothing and experiment our way up”. So I can test my “content”-assumptions frequently and learn faster. (see below 👇)
From Beehiiv to Substack. Why the change of the platform? I love Beehiiv, great easy editor, cool new upcoming brand, but 49€ per month and 99€ for all features. Instead, Substack has a huge following and all the features are for free. (only connecting my url was 50€ 💰)
These are my main reasons why I changed. To be honest, if you starting out right now and have no following, I recommend you Substack. If you have a big following you can still (and should) change at a later stage.
The Sections and Posting Schedule
Here is my Notion-Page about the posting schedule and which sections I planed in the near future.
As you may recognised, behind every section idea, is a clear value proposition to deliver useful content for european entrepreneurial thinkers. And thanks to the posting schedule, I can test different topics and different forms of content in an one-month-cycle.
This is perfect to find out what sticks and call the reader for a free subscription. Of course I will update with the stats over the Public Mission Log.
